Battlefield 2042 "Letter of Commendation"

For those that managed to complete the Season 7 Battle Pass for Battlefield 2042, you might want to check your inbox, as DICE has sent out a “Letter of Commendation” to players. For those not aware, Season 7 is the last seasonal content for Battlefield 2042, and this seems to be DICE’s proper send off to players given there’s no more Battle Pass to grind through once the current one is done.

Here’s what gamers will see in their email inbox:

LETTER OF COMMENDATION

HEADQUARTERS:

Dear,
On the occasion of ___ of the NON-PATRIOT primary elite unit, I offer my sincere congratulations on completing the PREMIUM BATTLE PASS.

Such an achievement deserves recognition.

You, and your squad’s dedication and contributions have been highly recognised with command and you have my highest admiration.

The pages of history will reflect the magnificent performance of SQUAD for which has shared in this achievement.

The fight doesn’t end here, No-Pat. The battle for power hangs in the balance and we still need every boot we can get on the ground.

FIGHT ON. REMAIN FREE. THE BATTLEFIELD AWAITS YOU.

Sincerely,
OZ –
For those curious what the “See What’s Next’ button does after clicking it, it just leads to this page:

Yeah, sort of anti-climactic, isn’t it? That said, the fact that BF2042 reached seven seasons is an achievement in of itself, as when the game was released to lukewarm reception, everyone presumed the game was dead, and that DICE would leave it to work on the next Battlefield game. Thankfully, that didn’t happen, as the studio reworked the specialists, the maps and more to make it what it is today.

Even if the seasonal content is over, that doesn’t mean DICE is abandoning the game. On the contrary, the studio just released the Dead Space crossover event this week, which you can read about here.

As for the next Battlefield game, EA hasn’t revealed it officially yet, but did confirm that it’s in a playable state, and how it’ll be “another tremendous live service” title.

Have you gotten a letter yet? What would you want to see from DICE as an appreciation gift to players?
